About LithiumSAFE 2026
The Fifth Annual LithiumSAFE: Battery Safety Workshop brings together the battery ecosystem for two days of open dialogue, practical demonstrations, and forward-looking discussion. Co-hosted by Soteria Battery Innovation Group and the Alabama Mobility & Power Center (AMP), the 2026 event will take place from September 15th - 16th at AMP’s advanced research and testing facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
This year’s workshop will feature live EV battery burn demonstrations, offering a controlled, real-world look at thermal runaway behavior and mitigation strategies. Attendees will also tour AMP’s new battery pilot facility, gaining insight into development and testing capabilities supporting next-generation mobility and power technologies.
Bringing together cell manufacturers, OEMs, material suppliers, researchers, insurers, regulators, and public safety professionals, LithiumSAFE creates space for candid conversations and collaborative problem-solving.
